DayGuide, the publishers of 'The Best of the Wine Country' guides hosted its 2006 Concierge Holiday BASH on Dec 12th, 2006. Concierges from the NCCA and some of the other top hotels attended to celebrate the festivities. Sixteen of our winery clients capitalized on this opportunity to set up pouring stations to showcase their wines to the Concierge Industry. Many of our other clients participated in the raffle prize drawing. The Event was held at the Franciscan Restaurant in San Francisco. As usual it was fine wines, delicious food & great friends. We want to thank all our clients who helped make this event a huge success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

Thank you so very much again for the whirlwind tour of the City. I have been studying my maps and have been getting a better picture of what lies where. Today I am writing all of the thank you notes to the concierges for their time and attention. I will happily use the information you sent to complete these notes. Laurie and I gave you a glowing report to the management team here on how professional, hard working and well-received you are in San Francisco. Clearly, you have worked very hard at establishing relationships with the "mafia" :) of the city and we are grateful to benefit from those ties. I am beginning to create a more formal package for the "day in the wine country" on BBWE and will update you when I have a complete program to present. New annual issue of 'The Best of the Wine Country' guide is published
DayGuide Publishing prints its 2004-2005 annual issue of 'The Best of the Wine Country' guide. This issue brings together even more wineries, hotels, spas, restaurants, resorts, museums, shops and golf courses. Our guides are now THE guides utilized by the Concierges of Four & Five Star hotels. The total distribution of the guide is now up from 500 different sites to over 600+ distribution sites throughout the Bay Area.

I wanted to write you a short note to express my thanks for your help in taking on the project of streamlining the coupon process at some of Napa/Sonoma Wineries. In my five years as the Chief Concierge of the Argent, I have established certain relationships with various wineries that made free tasting coupons available for my guests. My guests have thoroughly embraced the idea of going to the wineries that recognize them as valued hotel guest referred by a Concierge. Nine times out of ten they are more likely to purchase wines then Bay Area daytrippers.

Those wineries that recognize this aspect will separate themselves from the pack in guaranteeing a steady stream of hotel referred guests all year round. Furthermore, it has been my experience, after much interaction with my Concierge colleagues in the City, that guests prefer to go to places that seem to welcome them as opposed to simply walking into wineries randomly. I not only recommend the practice of wineries issuing tasting coupons, I tend to only deal with those wineries that offer them.
